Arcosanti is an experimental micro-city in the high desert of Arizona. It’s managed by the Cosanti Foundation, whose mission is to explore the experiential and educational benefits of integrating Architecture and Ecology. Visit the Arcosanti website here. The Arcosanti vision is to seek equitable and sustainable relationships between human activities and the Earth’s ecology.
This includes demonstration of Arcosanti as a prototype Arcology, assuming a a significant role in Earth's environmental stewardship, and inspiring research that fosters educational and cultural transformation. It does this as a future city prototype, using limited resources providing access for all to the essentials of “city” life; as an urban laboratory, solving disconnection in city life in a dynamic, educational experiences; and as a cultural center that explores the experiential and educational benefits of blending architecture and ecology.
